Who we are
Centre for Epidemiology and Clinical Research (CECR) is a professionally run non-governmental organization that has, since March 2010, actively engaged evidence in building local capacity for the control of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Our goal is to generate and engage scientific evidences for policy, advocacy, capacity building and control of endemic diseases and for advancing public health.

Our History
CECR was established in March 2010 by Dr. Olumide ABIODUN, a Public Health Physician and Clinical Epidemiologist, in response to a critical need for the scaling up of HIV/AIDS information and testing. The centre has since earned a reputation as a leading research centre with a complement of sound researchers and involvement in cutting-edge researches that cut across various public health disciplines. We have established collaborations with regional and national governments and also with international organizations. We have made pertinent interventions in gender and reproductive health policy formulation at regional levels. CECR is a leader in the epidemiology and control of cervical cancer in Ogun State, Nigeria. Currently, we are at the fore-front of developing partnership against adolescent hypertension in Nigeria.
We are a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to addressing Health, development and policy issues by working in partnership with people to build sustainable, healthy and productive communities.

Our Officials
Olumide Abiodun (Chairman)
Olumide holds an MBChB degree in Medicine and Surgery a Master’s degree in Public Health. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians. He has led and participated in many donor funded projects and studies and author many peer reviewed publications. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chief of Research of the CECR.
Olubusayo Adefowokan (Head, Finance)
Olubusayo Adefowokan is a skilled accountant who has tremendous experience in the world of accounting, she has worked in different part of Nigeria and is widely renowned and respected because of her finance talent she brings her financial experience into providing leadership and direction for the CECR
Oluwatosin Olu-Abiodun (Director)
Oluwatosin is a registered Nurse and seasoned researcher. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing Science and is a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing. She brings her clinical, administrative and research experience into providing leadership and direction for the CECR. She oversees the day to day running of the CECR and is the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
